A Norton Shores, Michigan, gas station clerk took matters into his own hands and sent an armed robber running for the door early Monday morning.
The clerk was working at a Shell gas station when a suspect armed with a revolver and donning a mask entered and demanded money. The clerk acted like he was playing along, but when the time was right, he grabbed a handgun of his own and opened fire on the crook, M Live reports.
The clerk opened the register for the suspect, and even helped him load his backpack with money. But as the thief was preoccupied with his loot the clerk slipped into the back room and armed himself with a pistol.
When the clerk reemerged, he fired around 10 rounds at the suspect. It’s unclear if the suspect was hit, but he sprinted towards the door and fled in a vehicle.
Police have yet to apprehend the man and ask anyone with information regarding the robbery call Silent Observer at 231-722-7463, or the Norton Shores Police Department at 231-733-2691.
