As the tallies rolled in from across the country Tuesday night, the presidential race became increasingly intense, but as Donald Trump’s numbers started to climb – indicating an almost inevitable win – people apparently flocked to the Canadian immigration website. So many people, in fact, that the website crashed.
The website went down around 10 p.m. and about two and a half hours later, it became official that Trump was chosen by the American majority to be the 45th president of the United States.
There were an awful lot of people who promised to leave the country if Trump became president. It’s unclear at this point if those individuals will stick to their guns, but as for now, the Canadian website still isn’t up and running, so they’ll just have to wait.
