Michael and Neil Fletcher were grouse hunting in Sudbury, Ontario, when they came across a bald eagle stuck in a trap. The brothers worked to free the bird, which they say was fairly calm and likely exhausted from trying to free itself.
Michael captured the unusual scene on video, which he later posted to Facebook and has since gained nearly 1 million views. But before they sent it back out into the wild, the brothers snapped a selfie with the bald eagle, which resulted in a priceless photo.
Michael recalled how massive the bird was and described his eyes as “remarkable.”
In the end, the brothers didn’t catch anything, but they didn’t care. They were just happy they were able to free the bald eagle.
