Canada –-(Ammoland.com)- Canada’s National Firearms Association (NFA) is very pleased to support the efforts of the National Pistol Team at achieving excellence in their sport.
While the NFA is primarily an advocacy organization, dedicated to making sweeping changes to Canada’s onerous and excessive firearms laws, we are also firm believers that competitive shooting needs to be better supported.
Canada has a rich cultural heritage of firearms use right from the earliest explorers through to the modern era. It is our goal to ensure that this heritage is protected and continues to flourish and our sponsorship is a tangible step towards that goal.
NFA Field Officer Ericka Clarke presented the National Pistol Team with a cheque for $10,000 on behalf of the NFA to support the Canadian National Pistol Team as it prepares for the 2015 Pan American Games.
Speaking from Camrose, Ericka said, “We believe that this new relationship can only be beneficial for both the National Pistol Team and Canada’s National Firearms Association. We appreciate the opportunity to contribute to this great team and we look forward to being a small part of your success.”
National Coach Patrick Haynes was very grateful for the support. “This NFA sponsorship will make a huge difference to our team’s chances at the Pan American Games in 2015. The NFA is doing great work for the Canadian firearms community.”
President Sheldon Clare added, “The NFA believes very strongly in supporting excellence in the shooting sports – currently we sponsor two world class biathletes – Megan Heinicke, who has competed for Canada at the past two winter Olympics, and Matt Neuman who has also demonstrated excellent performance as a biathlete and has recently started coaching others in biathlon. We also sponsor one top level IPSC shooter, Rob Engh, who highly values getting others into the shooting sports.”
