Officers with the Fresno Police Department recovered a gun stolen in a prior burglary after they responded to an apartment fire Monday.
Responding officers were told by witnesses about a suspicious person, who was seen tossing something under a parked car shortly after the fire started.
An investigation revealed the item was a revolver which had been stolen from a prior burglary at a Hanford residence. The suspect, 20-year-old Deoutrie Dodson, a known gang member, was arrested for possession of a stolen firearm.
According to the department, they are “committed to taking guns out of the hands of criminals and keeping our neighborhoods safe.”
