When a California homeowner found a group of people trying to break into his Chino Hills home Monday, he grabbed a gun — and his camera.
A photo snapped by Yan Zhang shows hime holding three of the five suspects at gunpoint. Another photo shows the cops handcuffing them a short time later.
Zhang said he as home with his wife and kids when five people tried to break in through a balcony door.
“They were home and then several kids kind of tried to pry the door open, tried to get in,” Tony Tran, the victim’s neighbor, told reporters. “(Zhang) got a gun so he fired a warning shot and was able to apprehend them until the police showed up.”
Two of the suspects initially got away, but thanks to the help of some neighbors, they were quickly apprehended.
Arrested on suspicion of burglary were Roberto Alonso Salmon, 18; Garret Rogers, 19; Ruben Medivil, 19; Joaquin Leonardo Salmon Garcia, 20; and a 17-year-old boy whose name was not released.
