USA –-(Ammoland.com)- WLUK FOX 11 News reported on 04-19-19 in Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin, a burglary occurred after business hours Sunday, around 9:30 p.m., at Frost Giant Games on South Oneida Street.

The business owner, told media that he and two of his employees were just blocks away at a fast-food restaurant. An internal automatic video system notified his fiancé and she called him.

When the owner arrived, he turned on the lights and rushed to the business.

He found a person wearing a black hoodie and backpack and chased him outside. An employee was waiting outside while the owner searched inside for the suspect

The suspect was running to a vehicle parked nearby when he was stopped by the employee, a concealed carry permit holder. He ordered the suspect to the ground at gunpoint. The intruder complied and asked them not to shoot him.

“We’re very satisfied with what happened,” said Ashwaubenon Public Safety Capt. Jody Crocker. “The situation here was that the burglar could’ve gotten away. The concealed carry holder did exactly what he should do. This was a felony in progress. He also complied with officers as soon as they arrived and did everything right. Conceal carry holders are trained on how and when to use their weapons, and this outcome could not have gone better.

Police have identified the suspect as a 31-year-old male from Minnesota. He was wanted there on a burglary warrant.

According the new criminal complaint, he faces three counts: Burglary of a building, theft and obstructing an officer.

Comments:

A store owner and an armed employee are able to catch and arrest a burglar. Another jerk is off the street. I applaud their courage!

That said, a thousand things could have gone wrong here. Try, really try not to do this. Call 911 and wait for the police. They have the tools, body armor and dogs to search the building safely.
