At least one store in Chicago’s subway system is encased in bulletproof glass.
Parts of Chicago’s subway system are renown for violent crime, and one South Side Subway shop at the corner of 116th St. and South Halsted has taken drastic preventative measures to keep their employees safe. The entire establishment is cordoned off from the public by bulletproof glass, CBS reports.
It appears the restaurant has made every attempt to separate itself from the outside world, including not having a bathroom for the public.
According to CBS, there are other similar establishments with bulletproof glass in Oakland and Detroit subways.
