Washington DC – -(Ammoland.com)- Maryland’s anti-gun group Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America’s Jenifer Pauliukonis says Texas Governor Rick Perry’s recent visit to a Beretta USA firearms factory was “callous.”
According to Paulinkonis, the Wednesday outing demonstrated “inappropriate timing” on the heels of Monday’s Navy Yard shooting, and she could not believe Perry “would show so little sensitivity” toward the victims in DC.
DallasNews.com reports that Perry does not see it that way, because the meeting did not include journalists, so there was not a lot of hoopla surrounding it. Rather, it was a closed-door meeting with Beretta executives.
On top of this Perry, retorted;
“There [are] always anti-gun individuals. [But] the fact is, I’m a pro-Second Amendment guy. Texas is a pro-Second Amendment state. Beretta has been a great manufacturer in Maryland and they feel not only under-appreciated, they feel under attack.”
