Actor Bill Paxton died Saturday of surgery-related complications at the age of 61, his family confirmed in a statement.
Most recently, Paxton, whose Hollywood career spanned over four decades, played Det. Frank Rourke on “Training Day,” a CBS series based on the 2001 film. He was also known as Randall McCoy from the “Hatfields & McCoys” series as well as Morgan Earp in “Tombstone.” Other notable film roles included “U-571,” “Twister,” “Apollo 13,” and “Aliens.”
Paxton was described by a family representative as “a loving husband and father.” He leaves behind his wife of 30 years, Louise, and two children, James and Lydia, who asked for privacy as they mourn.
