Indiana –-(Ammoland.com)- It doesn’t seem the Bill Of Rights poses much of an obstacle to a great many officials, elected or appointed.
I’ve had the occasion to encounter people who work even at the lower level of government agencies and departments who carry out their duties just, “doing their job,” without ever letting the idea of using restraint get in their way.
Outside of the Second Amendment I can’t think of any of the other first ten amendments, such as freedom of religion or speech or right to privacy that are violated that resulted in a re-call effort.
All ten of them hold a great deal of importance, but the right to be armed is what gives them all the iron in their makeup.
Anyone who questions that might want to check with the two Colorado state legislators who no longer hold elected seats because of their gun control support. The media has been constant in trying to chisel out that one amendment that stands in the way of completely disassembling the entire package.
In the past few weeks we have seen the spectacle of the media’s salesmanship on how we all must accept a life of dependence on a federal centralized government. Those who are recalcitrant by nature have been portrayed as being the dangerous element. This is the case of the kettle calling the pot black at its finest.
By today’s standard the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence would be held up to the most gruesome ridicule and there would be plenty of people to carry the flag of condemnation.
How nice it would be to rest, to draw back and know that all is well. Perhaps someday we can, but for now there is no time to let up. What liberty and principle is lost may never be recovered. Therefore, it is the obligation of those who cherish and understand the priceless value of what took place a mere 237 years ago to STAY UNITED.
The 2nd Amendment Patriots meeting will be this Saturday, the 26th at 6 PM at the West Side Sportsman’s Club as always. If you are able to attend it would be appreciated. If anyone wants to do a presentation of their favorite firearm or related item, you’re welcome to do so.
For the pot luck dinner just bring your favorite cold cut lunch meat and bread, desserts and soda pops.
