Graham, NC -(AmmoLand.com)- As part of a long-term commitment to hunting and shooting sports in Canada, Big Rock Sports, LLC recently hosted a fundraiser for the Canadian Sporting Arms and Ammunition Association (CSAAA).
The first-ever Big Rock Sports Weatherby Rifle Contest kicked off in November at a Toronto buying show held by the outdoor sporting goods distributor. The contest concluded on December 3 at the Big Rock Shooting Show in Las Vegas, NV with Clint Davisson, a Big Rock customer, taking home a Weatherby 70th Anniversary Mark V rifle.
Davisson, the owner of Moose’s Outfitting in Eastend Saskatchewan, went head to head in a round of bean bag toss with Brenda and Perry Mathias, owners of Corlane’s Sporting Goods in Dawson Creek, BC.
For winning, Davisson received a special edition Weatherby 70th Anniversary Mark V rifle, complete with a special edition knife, handcrafted by Ed Weatherby’s son Dan. Only 70 rifles were produced, each with its own unique serial number.
Brenda and Perry Mathias previously won the Weatherby Rifle Contest held at the Big Rock Sports Shooting Show and KTL Canada’s Fishing Show in Toronto on November 17. Their prize included a replica of the Weatherby Anniversary rifle plus an all-expenses paid trip to Big Rock’s Shooting Show in Las Vegas to compete in the final round of the contest.
At the end of the contest, Big Rock Sports—with the help of its generous customers—made a $5,000 donation to the Canadian Sporting Arms and Ammunition Association.
