Wanamassa, NJ (Ammoland.com) – Eagle Imports, Inc., importers of the popular Bersa line of firearms and exclusive distributor of the Metro Arms family, are proud to announce that Bersa sponsored competitive shooter, Gastón Quindi Vallerga, has taken the Production Division title at the 2014 Florida Open Pistol Shooting Tournament held this past February.

The 16th annual pistol competition is held every February in Frostproof, Florida and hosted by the Universal Shooting Academy. The Florida Open is the first USPSA match of the season pitting Grand Masters and competitive shooters from across the U.S., Europe and Latin America against eleven difficult stages featuring close and longer range targets.

“Once again the Universal Shooting Academy has measured up to the task,” Gastón commented. “There were amazing stages that were extremely challenging. The upcoming World Shoot promises to be one of the most challenging events in Practical Shooting’s history. I’m still using my Bersa Thunder Pro 9mm, a 4-inch barrel stock pistol, shooting against 5-inch competition production guns. If the Bersa Thunder Pro was up to the task, I can just imagine how the new 5-inch full size Bersa will respond!”

Gastón Quindi Vallerga, a native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, three-time IPSC Argentine Champion and Practical Shooting Pan-American Champion, became Bersa sponsored in 2013. The 32-year old Gastón began his competitive shooting career just five years ago and this early win has given Gastón the edge for an exceptional 2014 season.
