Atlanta, Georgia Police Department S.W.A.T. team extremely satisfied with their custom built Bergara rifles.
Duluth, Ga. (October 2015) – Bergara USA, a division of BPI Outdoors, is proud to announce that the Atlanta, Georgia Police Department’s S.W.A.T. unit has taken possession of their custom built tactical rifles. Bergara worked closely with members of the S.W.A.T. team for several months prior to the contract disclosure in April. Each of the custom Bergara rifles is based on the Heavy Tactical design featuring a Dead Air 7.62 Sandman-L
suppressor.
The Atlanta S.W.A.T. tactical rifles are built on an Ashbury Precision Ordnance MOD-1 SABER chassis with a fully adjustable folding stock and Limbsaver® recoil pad. The Bergara barrel is made from 416 stainless steel in .308 Winchester with a 1:10 twist, 19.5” in length and #7 contour. The rifle features a Bergara Premier Action Nightforce ATACR 5-25 MOAR scope on 34 mm Nightforce Ultralight rings. The Timney trigger offers the team members a highly reliable and precise trigger platform with a wider trigger shoe that disperses the weight of the pull over a larger area, resulting in a lighter felt trigger pull. Every APD S.W.A.T. rifle is fitted with a Dead Air muzzle brake and Sandman-L suppressor. The Sandman suppressor system features the easy-on-easy-off one-hand QD, which is a must have for officers in rapidly changing tactical scenarios.
