Albuquerque, NM –-(Ammoland.com)- Watch Fateof Destinee’s Beretta Nano, first impressions review.

The Beretta Nano is a new conceal carry pistol that was formerly introduced at Shot Show 2012.

It’s a 9mm handgun with an overall length of 5.63 inches; height of 4.17 inches, width of .90 inches and a barrel length of 3.07 inches.

I paid a recent visit to my local gun shop and was surprised that they already had a Nano in stock. I of course asked if they wouldn’t mind me putting my grubby hands on it to get a feel for the weapon.

What immediately struck me was the weight of this pistol, which comes in at 17.67 oz. It feels like a carry pistol that really has some heft to it when compared to other 9mm handguns with the same purpose. I’m guessing the weight will probably help with recoil and make follow-up shots a bit easier.

The other standout feature of this weapon that really got my attention is it’s trigger. It has the same plastic protrusion in the middle of the trigger that a Glock has, which actuates the safety when pressed upon. I rather excitedly exclaimed to the salesperson that “It looks like a Glock trigger!”

I guess I should not have been too surprised by this being that it’s a striker fired weapon like the Glock. However, what really got me was the salesperson’s reaction to my comment.

That he thought it’s the conceal carry gun that Glock should have built not Beretta. He went on to say that he loves Beretta’s and Glocks but Glock has really been resting on their laurels with their innovations in the conceal carry market.

Sure, the Glock 26 is a fine weapon to conceal but it’s still well over an inch wide. He thought that if Glock produced a single stack 9mm, that a lot of consumers would gladly sacrifice less ammunition in the magazine for a thinner, and even more concealable handgun.

And you know what? I have to agree with him! It is the conceal carry gun that Glock should have built!

However, Beretta appears to have made a really great concealable weapon in the Nano. Plus, I’ve read that it was actually built for the .40 S&W cartridge but Beretta decided to release the 9mm version first.

A Nano chambered in .40 S&W could definitely pique the interest of those wanting a concealable pistol chambered for a cartridge with a little more oomph to it.
