The Beretta Holding Group — made up of Benelli USA, Stoeger Industries and Burris Optics Company — to donate $100,000 to the National Shooting Sports Foundation’s #GUNVOTE initiative last week.
The movement aims to connect gun supporters with polling places and voter registration. The effort also provides information on candidates as well as election and gun related news.
“We know first hand the critical issues at stake in the upcoming election, and we are committed to helping educate the voting public about the risks posed by some candidates to their constitutional and political rights,”said a statement by Jeff Reh, General Counsel for Benelli USA and Stoeger and Board of Directors member for Burris.
The three companies, who fall under the Beretta Holding Group umbrella, joined several other manufacturers who’ve offered up funds to support the NSSF. Most recently, Smith & Wesson contributed $500,000 to the cause as a response to Massachusetts’ Attorney General Maura Healey’s measure banning “copycat assault weapons“.
NSSF Senior Vice President Lawrence Keane said the organization is excited to see members of the gun industry supporting voters and rallying behind the Second Amendment.
“We are very pleased to see these three companies come together in support of our #GUNVOTE campaign,” Keane said in a press release. “Their joint effort should be seen as a hallmark of what this industry can do when its members work together for the common good of preserving our business, our Second Amendment rights and the rich history of firearms we enjoy in this country.”
