Springfield, MO –-(Ammoland.com)- John Paul Morris, a RedHead Pro Hunting Team member and general manager of Bass Pro Shops’ online store, has been appointed to a three-year term to the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation board of directors. Morris’ term will begin in 2014.

“Bass Pro Shops has always been a leader in conservation and upholding our hunting and fishing traditions,” said Jeff Crane, president of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation.

“Having John Paul’s knowledgeable, young voice on our board will provide new insights and a frame of reference that will benefit the organization.”

The mission of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation, which was founded in 1989, is to work with Congress, governors, and state legislatures to protect and advance hunting, recreational fishing and shooting and trapping. The Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus, the Governors Sportsmen’s Caucus, and the National Assembly of Sportsmen’s Caucuses work closely with the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation and other major hunting, shooting, recreational fishing, and trapping organizations to advance the agenda of America’s hunters and anglers.

Morris, who grew up in the Missouri Ozarks, is an accomplished hunter and angler as well as a passionate conservationist.

“The opportunity to be able to hunt and fish is so important to me. Serving on the board of an organization as prestigious as the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation will allow me to actively work on behalf of everyone in this country who values our outdoor traditions,” Morris said. “I’m interested in making sure that all Americans understand how hunters and anglers contribute to wildlife conservation and that the North American Model of Wildlife Conservation stands the test of time.”

In addition to serving on the board of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation, Morris also serves on the national board of directors for Quality Deer Management Association.
