When fans attending a college baseball game between Louisiana and Lafayette last month were told that, due to time constraints, there would no be singing the National Anthem, the fans – or the players – didn’t take the request sitting down.
With no further ado – and no need for permission – the fans simply stood up and starting singing the “Star Spangled Banner” and the players paused their warm-ups to place their hands over their hearts and sing along.
