Nebraska -(Ammoland.com)- Hayden Baehr of the Wilber 5 Clovers 4-H team was perfect Thursday.

He broke all 100 targets at 16 yards to win the junior high division at the 46th Cornhusker Trapshoot at the home grounds of the Nebraska Trapshooting Association.

The Norris 1 team broke 463 of 500 targets to claim the team championship. Karp & Krow of Burwell won the 4-H team title at 463. Hayley Long of Lincoln Mickle Middle School had the girls’ high score of 99, and Grand Island Northwest 1 won the girls’ team title at 365.

A record 961 junior high shooters competed Thursday. Approximately 1,600 senior high students are expected to shoot 75 rounds of 16-yard targets Friday. They will shoot 75 handicap targets Saturday, and the combined scores of the two days will determine the overall champion, the Cornhusker Cup winner.

This year’s trapshoot is hosting shooters from Nebraska, as well as Colorado, Wyoming, Missouri and Kansas.

Top Three 4-H Teams – 1. Burwell Karp and Krow 4-H (Colby Mitchell, Logan Smith, Cannon Osentowski, Samuel Lech, Jonathan Brown), 463 of 500; 2. Central City Merrick County 4-H, 450; 3. Scottsbluff Platte Valley 4-H, 449.

Top Three Girls Teams – 1. Grand Island Northwest 1 (Kaylee Stoppkotte, Delaney Shears, Jaylin Johnston, Lauren Thorpe, Kamryn Stoppkotte), 365 of 500; 2. Aurora Middle School 4, 353; 3. Gordon-Rushville 1, 348.

Top Six Teams – 1. Norris 1 (Trevor McDonald, Max Christiansen, Alex Hunter, Bryce McGill, Michael Walsh), 463 of 500; 2. Louisville Gold, 461; 3. Papillion-LaVista 1, 447; 4. Ogallala 1, 446; 5.North Platte Blue, 444; 6. Exeter-Milligan 1, 439.

Ducks Unlimited awarded prizes to the shooters with highest scores on their middle 50 targets. The top three girls were Long of Lincoln Mickle, 49; Woodward of Mickle, 49; and Anna Feldman of Omaha St. James/Seton, 48. The top three boys were Baehr of Wilber 5 Clovers 4-H, 50; Ritthaler of Fremont, 50; and Hoffman of Ralston St. Gerald’s, 50.
