A Houston college student expressed in a tweet Tuesday that Darren Goforth, the Harris County deputy who was brutally shot and killed while pumping gas, must have done something to deserve being shot 15 times in the head and back, adding that the married father of two had “creepy perv eyes.”
Not surprising, Monica Foy’s tweet set off a slew of negative reactions. So much so that Foy decided to delete the tweet and eventually her entire Twitter account altogether.
And while she thought that would be the end of the repercussions from her social media rant, she was very wrong.
According to Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Brady Fitzgerald, someone alerted police to the fact that that the Sam Houston State University student had an outstanding warrant for assault causing bodily harm. So authorities ran Foy’s information and sure enough, she was a wanted woman.
By the end of the day, Foy was behind bars, but was released the following day after her bond was posted.
