Sparta, IL -(AmmoLand.com)- A Program called the Southern Illinois Patrons of Youth Trapshooting (SIPYT) was unveiled by the ATA this year, reaching out to local businesses and organizations interested in showing their support for the AIM National Championships recently held July 28th-Aug 2nd.

“The program was a sponsorship opportunity for those that benefit most from the shooting event, and something we had not done in the past,” said AIM Administrator, Janae Yates.

This first time program was a success with 19 local businesses and organizations taking part. The program offered 3 Sponsorship Levels; Gold, Silver, and Bronze. Gold Sponsors being; The Butcher’s Block, Border North Marketing, LLC, Holiday Inn & Express and IBEW LU702. Silver Sponsors were Gipson Quality Firearms, The Opera House Bistro and The County Journal. David M Holder, CPA, Showtime Cinemas, Roeslein, Memorial Hospital of Chester, The Randolph County Farm Bureau, Sparta Community Hospital, Randolph County Economic Development, The Great Outdoors, Dynegy, SWIC, Season’s Event Center and J&T’s Caliber were all Bronze Sponsors.

“The event would not have been such a success without the help from all of our SIPYT Sponsors, and because of that we do plan to continue the program for the 2017 AIM National Championships.”

It was determined during the development of the program, that because our focus was local, we wanted to keep a portion of the donations in our area. In an effort to do so, Lynn Gipson, ATA Executive Director presented Southern Illinois Youth Shooting Sports Association (SIYSSA) with a check for $2,500.00, Tuesday night at an Annual Meeting. The SIYSSA is a non-for profit organization dedicated to promoting Trapshooting and other shooting activities for the youth of Southern Illinois. SIYSSA supports the activities of each member by encouraging good sportsmanship and responsibility and is committed to developing youth trap shooters to compete both individually and through team effort.

“We would like to thank all of our SIPYT Sponsors for their support. Each year that the program continues, the ATA will make a donation to SIYSSA showing our support to them.”
