MANDEVILLE, LA –-(Ammoland.com)-  It’s a group giving free shotguns to neighborhoods, the future of Beretta in Maryland, and more, this week on Tom Gresham’s Gun Talk Radio, the original nationally-syndicated radio talk show about guns and the shooting sports.

The Armed Citizen Project, a new group that started in Houston, TX, has two goals: One is to arm residents in neighborhoods with higher crime and study the impact on crime deterrence, and, Two, is to arm the more vulnerable residents, including single ladies and the elderly – all free of charge. Executive Director Kyle Coplen drops by this Sunday to discuss the project, which includes a resident taking a safety and training course and passing a background check before receiving one of the group’s shotguns. Jeff Reh, General Counsel with Beretta U.S.A. Corp., stops in with an update on Beretta’s future in Maryland after the recent passage of a strict gun-control bill. In February, Reh spoke at the Maryland Legislature’s hearing about this bill, which includes 10-round limited magazines.
