Anti Hunting & Fishing Groups File Complaints About Outdoors Rally – Can You Say Sore Losers
One of the groups, Showing Animals Respect and Kindness (SHARK), also filed a complaint against Christie for not reporting the rally as an in-kind contribution.

TRENTON, NJ –-(Ammoland.com)- Some of you may have read that two anti-fishing and anti-hunting groups may file complaints with NJ Election Law Commission over a rally held by the NOJA last year.

The rally was to bring awareness to forest stewardship, clean water, fishing, hunting and the need to protect the outdoor freedoms we enjoy.

We named the rally, “R.O.O.R.” (Rescue Our Outdoor Rally). We had a number of guest speakers; Non Government Organizations (Jersey Coast Anglers Assoc., NJ Quail Project, Reef Rescue, and NJOA Conservation Foundation), as well as eight (8) or more members of the senate and assembly — including democrats and republicans. Candidate Christie was also a speaker. The rally was issue oriented and we all had a wonderful time (even the rainy weather paused for most of the rally.)

It is common knowledge that the three New Jersey Outdoor Alliance organizations have taken a leadership role in advancing environmental stewardship by means of conservation. In response to this direction, it is predictable that special interest groups would struggle to maintain their control over the status quo, regardless if the status quo is comprised of poorly conceived protectionist policies.

However, the consequence of protectionist policies is the degradation of our forests and waters; they have caused destruction to habitat and put undue stress on wildlife. Protectionist policies have contributed to an overabundance of deer and bears, and have played a significant role in bringing quail, grouse, redheaded woodpeckers, and other species in NJ to the brink of extirpation. The cumulative effect of these detrimental policies is now compromising public safety.

I can’t say with certainty why the anti-fishing and anti-hunting groups are acting with malice, but this email is a reminder that all of the volunteers at the NJOA will continue to act responsibly and on behalf of the best interests of the outdoors community. We will pursue our mission to educate others about the workings of the environment and lead the way in establishing conservation measures as the primary means of safeguarding our natural resources.

Thank you for your support.
