New Berlin, Wis. –(Ammoland.com)- Bony, a bomb sniffing dog, entered a mission in Afghanistan with handler Sgt. Daniel Sandoval as if it were just another day on the job. While the partners tirelessly worked to clear an area of explosives, Bony’s behavior took an unexpected turn. Sgt. Sandoval knew Bony’s behavior meant he had alerted to something suspicious. What they found had little to do with explosives and much to do with $83 million. Saving Private K-9 airs exclusively on Sportsman Channel, Thursday at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT.
On this week’s episode of Saving Private K-9, Bony and Sgt. Sandoval team with Special Forces to clear explosives while on deployment. They were successful in doing so but Bony continued searching. He alerted to a patch of uneven ground in a way that suggested something other than explosives lay beneath – something Bony was never trained to find.
“Based on how Bony was showing me his reactions and his non-interest in it, I knew there was something there. But I knew that it was not explosive in nature, so I wasn’t worried about it,” admitted Sandoval. “So, I dug. I heard something hard underneath it and hollow – we had no idea what we had just found.”
