Indiana -(AmmoLand.com)- In my email to remind everyone that the November 2nd Amendment Patriots meeting would be the last one for this year and our next one will be in January, I finished the letter that much can change in two months and that was also my last comments at our meeting based only on the unpredictability of the world today.
The Patriots is now winding up 17 years of existence. That’s a long time for a grassroots group to hold the line.
In light of what citizens will surely be exposed to with regards to more gun law proposals I would like to share some thoughts, but first I want to comment on some other factors that are also important components in the direction events are taking.
Over the years I have written about issues of religion and how it correlates with gun rights and in fact, for those who read my letters, might recall the last two letters were concentrated on those two elements. Now today in the aftermath of another terrible attack on Americans in our own backyards the New York’s Daily News front cover “God isn’t fixing this”, and the discussion is about the clawing and clamoring at people who pray and practice their Christian faith.
It is beyond understanding how successful those who want God removed from every thread of our lives, from prayer in school to keeping religious references out of government activity. Last month at Bremerton High School the football coach lost his job for praying on the field after the games. Right now in South Bend, Indiana there is a father and his son who wants to stay anonymous who along with the ACLU is suing a school to stop its tradition of having a live Nativity scene.
When a tragedy strikes inevitably the words, “pray for the families”, roll off the tongues of those who have steadfastly insured that our children will be blocked from any spiritual experience as possible and then has the brass to write God isn’t fixing this.
When a country slams the door on God and continues to defy and insult Him on such a scale, can we expect Him to be our first responder? I can’t recall an instance where an individual or a community has been seriously injured because of prayer.
Now we are again standing before the flashing billboard of gun control. Yet again another reminder of the abject and wretched inability of so many who absolutely cannot process a logical thought. It is an inherent default characteristic to automatically react in a mindless behavior to an event.
For those who attended the Patriots meeting this past Saturday I explained some recent polls conducted in Indiana with regards to more gun control and the reports that those polls show a huge increase in support for more gun control among citizens and legislators. I did have some senators ask me about some of questions in the polls and I was able to clarify some of the misunderstandings they had. It was evident that those who conducted the polling knew exactly how to ask the questions in order to get the results they wanted. It’s called manipulation and liberals along with media work it like magic.
One example of how this manipulation works is what happened back in June regarding the shooting at a church in Charleston, South Carolina. Within a day the subject of reporting was about gun control, rebel flags, the Dukes of Hazzard TV show and Confederate war memorials. The focus was completely redirected on topics that provide absolutely no solution to stopping criminal acts. I would suggest that a TV rerun show, flags on the back of a pickup truck, or digging up the grave of a Confederate military officer for relocation is probably not on the minds of those in San Bernardino.
Keep in mind the way people’s thoughts can be channeled and observe how the country will be lead down the same road again that will chip away more liberty and how glorious the promise will be that it’s a good thing for us all.
We are going to witness the recycle of all the phrases from the 1990’s that was used to refer to certain types of firearms, gun show loopholes and the underlying theme that good people must suffer to some extent the consequences of what bad people do.
