Amy Adams gives up first class seat for U.S. soldier (VIDEO)

Golden Globe winner and five-time Academy Award nominee Amy Adams gave up her first class seat for a U.S. soldier in uniform Friday.

Adams, whose father was in the U.S. military, was on her way back from filming “Batman vs. Superman” when she spotted the soldier. As she was waiting to board her flight from Detroit to Los Angeles she quietly organized the trade with a Delta airlines flight attendant, and as the passengers boarded the plane she pulled the soldier aside and told him the good news, ABC reports.

“I didn’t do it for attention for myself,” Adams said. “I did it for attention for the troops.”

Jemele Hill, co-host of ESPN2’s “Numbers Never Lie,” was also on the flight and said Adams made the switch to coach quickly and quietly.

“I noticed Ms. Adams was in first class and as I was getting seated, I saw the flight attendant guide the soldier to Ms. Adams’ seat,” Hill said. “She was no longer in it, but it was pretty clear that she’d given up here seat for him… Ms. Adams did it so quietly and quickly that it speaks to her character. And somebody in coach just got a helluva seatmate!”
