AmmoLand Shooting Sports News is Endorsing Robert K Brown for the 2018 NRA Board of Directors.
“In a year of many calls to “Drain the Range” on the NRA BOD, longtime board member Lt. Col. Robert K. Brown is an example of the caliber of man we want to see represent the membership. Known as a “fiscal hawk” on the NRA BOD, “Uncle Bob” has no fear of holding the board and leadership to account for its spending and actions and he deserves your vote to remain on the board” ~ Fredy Riehl, Editor in Chief, AmmoLand News.

Three Gun Competition Before it Was Cool
Brown and friends originated, organized and supported the Soldier of Fortune Three Gun World Championships for 22 years, setting the standard for “real world” use of the pistol, shotgun, and rifle for law enforcement, military, and concerned citizens.
In a “Resolution” passed by the NRA on 20 October 2005, Brown’s Soldier Of Fortune magazine was noted:
“WHEREAS, From its inception, SOLDIER OF FORTUNE magazine has been uncompromising in supporting freedom and the Second Amendment through its right-to-keep-and-bear-arms editorial policy and public appearances; and WHEREAS, SOLDIER OF FORTUNE magazine has played a prominent role in electing pro-gun political leaders and defeating antigun politicians as candidates for various State Legislatures, the U.S. House of Representatives, and the U.S. Senate.”
SOF played a major role, along with former NRA President Joe Foss in electing U.S Senator Mike Enzi to the U.S. Senate in 1996, for which, neither General Foss or SOF received a “thank you” from Team Enzi. On this subject Lt. Col. Robert K. Brown says he has considered sending an email to Enzi, “suggesting he and his horse perform an unnatural act.”
Brown, over the years on the NRA Board, has served on the Finance Committee, Public Affairs Committee, Executive Committee, Nominating Committee, Military and Veterans Affairs, Grassroots Development, Legislative Policy and Publications Policies committees. Due to his efforts in Publications, he saved the NRA $462,000 by bringing in-house the digital format of “First Freedom,” from Ackerman/McQueen, “a vampire-like vendor”, quip Bob at that time.
In the past, Lt. Col. Robert K. Brown has been endorsed by the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association, Firearms Coalition of Colorado and the Montana Shooting Sports Association.
