Local Qualifiers from Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky Compete for Spot in National Championships
DENVER (Ammoland.Com) American Marksman – a new concept television show and target shooting competition by Outdoor Sportsman Group sponsored by Crimson Trace – is hosting the Great Lakes Regional Championship on July 30-31 at the Walter Cline Range in Friendship, Ind.
American Marksman is giving amateur shooters the chance to take part in a nationwide competition and earn their way to a national championship for cash, gear and the title of American Marksman. Local qualifiers began in March at various locations across the country.
The Great Lakes Regional Championship takes the top shooters from categories of Men’s Open, Women’s Open, Junior (12-16) and Military/Law Enforcement. The ultimate winner will come from any of these categories.
American Marksman will keep the cameras rolling throughout three phases of the competition: local qualifiers, regional championships and a national championship with the entire process airing exclusively on Outdoor Sportsman Group Networks. Visit http://AMMarksman.Com for the full schedule.
During the regional competitions, each competitor will participate in five courses of fire that include: .22 caliber pistol (TacSol Pac-Lite .22 LR), .22 caliber rifle (TacSol 10/22 X-Ring Open Sighted with Warden stock), two separate stages of 9 mm, and .223 caliber bolt action rifle (Model 6928 Ruger American Rifle® All-Weather®) at long range. Ammo is sponsored by Eley Ammunition and Aguila Ammunition, targets by Rocky Mountain Targets. Other sponsors include: Tactical Solutions, Ruger, Burris, Keltek and Lucas Oil.
The National Championship will be held January 6-8, 2017 at the CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park in Talladega, Alabama.
