LISTEN UP, SWEETHEART!
Los Angeles, CA & Denver, CO -(AmmoLand.com)- He’s an 11-year veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He’s starred in more than 60 feature films. And he’s a weapons enthusiast.
He’s R. Lee Ermey – a.k.a. The Gunny – and he’s leading the charge in the second season of GunnyTime with R. Lee Ermey on Outdoor Channel. The show will make its return to the network on Wednesday, June 29 at both 7:30 p.m. ET and 11:30 p.m. ET.
The fiery half-hour series produced by Rogin Entertainment is centered on weapons and weapons technology – past, present and future. While consulting with top-notch experts, Ermey will get a chance to scratch his itchy trigger finger as he demonstrates some of the most historic and high-tech pieces – from the famous Finnish Lahti L-39 anti-tank gun used during the Second World War to the Milkor M32A1, a multi-shot 40mm grenade launcher used by the Marines today. He also test-drives and boards a variety of weaponized vehicles, such as the USS Makin Island (LHD-8) – a U.S. Navy ship where he got to play with a Phalanx CIWS. Engaging stories are tied to the pieces of weaponry and ground combat vehicles in each of the series’ 10 episodes. Also on display is Ermey’s indomitable in-your-face drill instructor persona.
Join the one-of-a-kind R. Lee Ermey as he tries out some of the baddest and most powerful weaponry known to mankind. Along for the ride throughout the series will be the crew from Dillon Aero; the Maricopa County SWAT team in Arizona; firearms expert Kenton Tucker; WW II weapons historian Gary Archer; Team GLOCK Captain and former U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit shooter Shane Coley; legendary Vietnam-era U.S. Army sniper Ed Eaton; Craig “Sawman” Sawyer, a retired U.S. Navy SEAL; Aaron Cohen, a former Israeli Defense Forces operator; Tori Nonaka, Team GLOCK member and a three-time USPSA National Champion; Kirsten Joy Weiss, YouTube sensation and noted performance shooter; and Capt. Rogers and the crew of the USS Makin Island.
The Gunny is best known for his unforgettable performances in films like Stanley Kubrick’s Full Metal Jacket, which he received a Golden Globe Best Supporting Actor nomination for his role as Gunnery Sergeant Hartman. Ermey also has starred in critically acclaimed television series on HBO, TNT, Showtime and History Channel. In addition to his storied film, broadcast and Marine Corps careers, Ermey’s impressive resume also boasts a 12-year reign as a GLOCK spokesman; has brand engagements with Victory Motorcycles, KA-BAR Knives, Tru Spec Apparel and Creedmoor Ammunition; and has appeared in campaigns for companies ranging from Coors Light to GEICO. He also works with the Young Marines Youth Organization and makes numerous personal appearances on behalf of the military and law enforcement.
