Washington DC – -(Ammoland.com)- Gabby Giffords and Mark Kelly’s gun control group–Americans for Responsible Solutions (ARS)–continues to target Republican Congressional candidate Martha McSally (R-AZ-2) as part of their attempt to force the passage of more federal gun control for stalking-related convictions.
McSally has responded by labeling the ads against her as “offensive” and pointing out that she was stalked and “held hostage while on assignment” during her time in the Air Force.
According to NPR, “tough, emotional ads” are at the center of the attacks on McSally. Breitbart News previously reported The Arizona Republic described one of the ads as “base and vile,” saying it “takes the tragic death of two innocents” and tries to lay them at McSally’s feet because of her opposition to gun control.
ARS is attacking McSally in hopes of keeping her out of office so Representative Ron Barber (D-AZ-2) can win in November and then vote yes for more gun control at the federal level.
Giffords and Kelly are using ARS to push for new federal laws that would treat those with misdemeanor stalking convictions the same as those with felony stalking convictions, banning gun ownership for both.
