With the piston system, the propellant gases that are being diverted by the gas block into the operating system, are instead vented at the gas block.
Since the fouling from the gas system is being vented, the action it stays cooler and cleaner. This system is designed around short stroke piston operation. The piston pushes the anti tilt one piece carrier, which unlocks the bolt and allows the piston to return while the bolt carrier continues to cycle independently. Item#CMMG-FM4LEPII
