Florida –-(AmmoLand.com)- In the increasingly crowded market of gas piston systems for AR designs, Adams Arms filed a lawsuit in Florida Federal Court to prevent Sig Sauer from selling its piston system AR rifle variant, the SIG516 Rifle.

On August 2, 2010 the court refused Adams Arms’ request to bar Sig’s sales, noting that Adams Arms is “not likely to succeed” in establishing its claims of patent infringement, and that Sig had raised a substantial question concerning whether Adams Arms’ patent is valid.

The court also concluded that it did not have the power to enjoin the Army from purchasing Sig’s products.
