Salt Lake City, UT -(Ammoland.com)- The 2015 Western Hunting and Conservation Expo (WHCE) opens this week and expected to draw over 35,000 western hunters during the 4-day event.
The WHCE is held at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah and officially opens at 9:45 am on Thursday February 19 with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The Expo Hall is open from 10 am to 7 pm Thursday through Saturday and 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday February 22.
Throughout the event there will be opportunities to visit the hundreds of vendors in the Expo Hall, learn new hunting techniques from some of the best hunters in the country, and bid on the many great items in the auctions on Friday and Saturday.
“We are very excited to open the Western Hunting and Conservation Expo because we know that this year’s event will be our best one ever,” said Mule Deer Foundation CEO, Miles Moretti. “This is a fantastic event to bring the entire family to because of all of the great products for sale, the first class taxidermy, M.U.L.E.Y. events for kids, seminars, evening entertainment, and much more.”
This year’s WHCE is sponsored by Ammo & More and ACI along with hosts the Mule Deer Foundation (MDF) and Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife (SFW). The Expo features a keynote address on Friday February 20th by the National Rifle Association’s Wayne LaPierre and music from top selling country music artist Jerrod Niemann. On Saturday evening, the crowd will be entertained by country music legends Sawyer Brown and there will be a keynote address by Corey Knowlton.
The 2015 WHCE will have some of the most coveted big game tags available for auction from mule deer, bighorn sheep, elk, moose and several other North American big game animals. Twenty-five sheep tags are available for auction or raffle and attendees can apply for the chance to draw for 200 big game tags courtesy of the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. This year, there will also be an opportunity for people who are unable to attend the event to bid for auction items online. Funds raised at auctions support the conservation mission of both MDF and SFW.
“We’ve put in a lot of time and effort to secure the best speakers, the best auction items and the best vendors for the people who come to the Expo,” commented Jon Larson, CEO of Sportsmen for Fish & Wildlife. “We know that this is a must-attend show for any western hunter.”
