Richmond, BC – -(Ammoland.com)- You are invited to join the Guide Outfitters Association of British Columbia in Richmond, BC on June 18-19, 2014 for our second International Wildlife Management Symposium.
The 2014 Symposium, Stewardship in Action, will build on the lessons learned in the first symposium in 2011, which explored the various social, political, environmental and economic pressures on wildlife management.
Stewardship in Action will focus on building partnerships and managing competing interests on the land base.
Together attendees will explore conservation projects and management approaches in other jurisdictions, and glean from their knowledge and experience. The event will provide a platform to increase collaboration – not only among wildlife conservationists, but across land-use sectors.
We currently have a room block at the Delta Vancouver Airport Hotel with a special rate of $139 per night, valid until May 18, 2014. Click here to reserve your room at the Delta Vancouver Airport Hotel.
About the GOABC
Guide outfitters are the founders of the tourism industry in British Columbia, with a history going back to the late 1800s. Guiding licences were first issued in 1913, and government had the foresight to establish exclusive guide territories in 1961, which created a sense of responsibility and stewardship among guide outfitters.
The Guide Outfitters Association of British Columbia (GOABC) was established in 1966 to represent the guide outfitting industry to government and advocate for science-based wildlife management. Today the association continues this vision, representing 70-80% of the guide outfitters in BC, Yukon, and Northwest Territories. www.goabc.org
