2 Ohio men indicted on charges related to transferring firearm to illegal alien

Two men residing in Canton, Ohio, have been indicted on charges related to the transfer of a firearm to an illegal alien.

According to a Justice Department news release, 43-year-old Nazario Mendoza and 34-year-old Jose Argueta-Carrillo, also known as Jose Armica-Argueta, have been named in the two-count indictment.

From Jan. 4 up to Feb. 7, Mendoza allegedly transferred a Taurus 9mm pistol, Model: PT111 Millennium G2 firearm to Argueta-Carrillo, who was prohibited from possessing.

Argueta-Carrillo, who was an alien unlawfully living in the U.S., has been charged with illegally possessing the firearm.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Homeland Security Investigations, FBI Safe Streets Task Force and Canton Police Department investigated the case.
