Authorities still aren’t sure what sparked a deadly gunfight between two rival biker gangs at a pub and restaurant in Warren Township, Ohio, Saturday, but the incident left two dead and three seriously wounded.
David Bailes, President of the Forever Two Wheelz (FTW) motorcycle gang, who was injured in the shootout at Shorty’s Place, is facing murder charges.
“I’m sure there’ll be more charges but right now, there has been two murder charges filed,” said Warren Township Police Chief Don Bishop.
Bailes was injured, but expected to survive.
Robert Marto, 54, and Jason Moore, 41, both members of the Brothers Regime motorcycle gang, were killed. Andrew Claypool, 50, and Walter Hughes, 41, members of the same gang, were injured. Their current conditions are unknown.
Bishop said there were reports of others who were injured and attempted to provide their own medical care, but those reports are still unsubstantiated.
Authorities said the gunfight erupted around 12:30 p.m., but Chief Bishop said they have never had problems with biker gangs in the past. Nonetheless, he said they have stepped up patrols, as safety of the residents remains a top priority.
