168 weapons turned in at Cleveland gun buyback (VIDEO)

The Cleveland Police Department collected 168 unwanted weapons during a gun buyback over the weekend.

“The line at one point was wrapped around the block,” said Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams. “That’s great. It means people are getting our message: Get guns out of your homes that you’re not using; get guns off our streets.”

The guns were exchanged for various food and gas cards worth up to $200. Williams, who said the unwanted weapons are melted down and recycled, hopes the next buyback will be even bigger.
