AIKEN, S.C. –-(Ammoland.com)- One-hundred-year-old Detroit Minnow Cage and Detroit Minnow Tube lures from 1914-15 in nearly new condition were named “Appraiser’s Choice” from a wide range of firearms, artwork, fishing tackle and outdoor collectibles appraised at the premier filming of Treasures & Traditions TV, this past weekend at the Cincinnati Hunting & Fishing Show.
Treasures & Traditions TV is filming for their debut on Discovery Channel’s Destination America this summer. Cincinnati was their first stop as they seek out the most unique memorabilia stored in sportsmen’s closets or hanging on their walls.
“I couldn’t tell if the owner of the lures or our appraiser was more excited about the appraisal of these two extraordinary vintage lures,” commented Steve Pennaz, Executive Producer for Treasures & Traditions TV and angling expert.
“The lures were among four that were in a cigar box purchased at an auction for $10.00. The owner had no idea of the potential value of the lures, which was estimated at between $6,500 and $7,000.”
For two days, local sportsmen brought in their items to Treasures & Traditions taping during the Cincinnati Hunting & Fishing Show. “We saw many exciting items over the two days, but these two lures and the reaction of the owner when he learned their value exemplified the vision of Treasures & Traditions TV,” commented Bob Delfay, program host and creator.
